Greyhounds Clinch #1 Seed in Region Tournament with NorthArk Victory
The Greyhounds turned a 10-point halftime lead into a 96-63 victory Saturday over the North Arkansas College Pioneers to clinch the top seed in the Region 2 Basketball Tournament March 1 & 3.

The Greyhounds' leading scorer, Jalen Lynn, was tagged with three fouls in the first 4 and a half minutes of the game, but Ike Moore picked up the slack, scoring 20 first-half points as ASU Mid-South used an 18-0 run on the way to a 35-25 halftime lead.
After the break, North Arkansas scored back-to-back baskets to cut it to six points, 35-29, but the Greyhounds then went on a 13-0 run capped by a Kevin Fulton three-pointer to lead 48-29, and the Pioneers never threatened the rest of the way.
The Greyhounds shot 51.6% from the field and hit 12 three-pointers at 54.5% shooting while dominating the boards, 48-29. Meanwhile, the Pioneers shot just 31.7% from the field and went just 3-of-24 from behind the arc for 12.5%.
Ike Moore led all scorers with 24 points and pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds while Jalen Lynn and Garret Finley scored 19 points each with Finley also collecting 8 boards. Jarius Sharp finished with 11 points, and Kevin Fulton dished out a game-high 6 assists to go with 7 points.
The Greyhounds take the top seed into the Region 2 Basketball Tournament and play #4 National Park in the semifinals on Sunday, March 1, at 5:00pm at Harding University's Rhodes Field House in Searcy, Arkansas. The winner will advance to Tuesday's Championship Game against the winner of #2 SAU Tech and #3 North Arkansas. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and ASU Mid-South will be live-streaming the game on the ASU Mid-South channel of NJCAATV.com.
ASU Mid-South has one remaining game in the regular season, hosting West Kentucky Monday at 6:00pm.
