Sam Smith and Tim Johnson led the charge with 17 points each with Smith also pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Mekhai Washington scored 15 points, Christian Thompson finished with 14 points, and Jeremiah Jones chipped in 13 points. O.J. Marrs scored 10 points to go with 8 rebounds, while J.T. Smith finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Jailen Anderson led the team with 7 assists as he and J.T. Smith both collected a team-high 3 steals.
ASU Mid-South shot 52.6% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point line while holding the Pioneers to 30.9% shooting. Crowley's Ridge did hit 15 three-pointers out of 40 attempts, but the Greyhounds controlled the boards 60-28 and forced 19 Pioneer turnovers.
The Greyhounds (1-0) next host their annual tournament November 5-6 as Dallas College-North Lake, #20-ranked Parkland College and Region 2 rival National Park College round out the other teams. Games will be held Friday at 5:00pm and 7:00pm and Saturday at 12:00pm and 2:00pm with the Greyhounds playing the later game both days.
