Greyhounds Turn Cold in Second Half

After leading 40-36 at the half, ASU Mid-South ended the night shooting just 37.7% from the field and an anemic 2-of-17 (11.8%) from the three-point line while the Rangers hit 56.1% from the field. The Greyhounds hit the boards for 18 offensive rebounds to Northwest's 9, and only turned the ball over 10 times, but the ball just wouldn't fall in the second half as only T.J. Stewart (12 points on 6-of-8 shooting) and Jailen Anderson (8 ponts on 4-of-7 shooting) managed over 50% from the field. Christian Thompson led the way with a team-high 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, and J.T. Smith dished out 7 assists to go with 8 rebounds and 6 points.
ASU Mid-South (11-11, 5-3) now turns their attention to their final two games of the regular season, both against NJCAA Region 2 opponents, as they travel to North Arkansas College Thursday before hosting UA Cossatot Saturday at 4:00pm. The Greyhounds then play next week in the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament held at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, with the quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 22, the semifinals on Friday, February 25, and the championship game on Sunday, February 27.
