Lady Indian Comeback Nips Lady Greyhounds

Leading for the first three quarters, the Itawamba Lady Indians used a 15-6 fourth quarter to finish the game and take a 58-55 victory over ASU Mid-South Thursday in Fulton, Mississippi.

The Lady Greyhounds led each quarter by scores of 21-16, 32-26 and 49-43 before succumbing to the home team in the final frame. Sable Greer led ASU Mid-South with 15 points while Samantha Jackson poured in 13 points. Itawamba hit two more field goals than did the Lady Greyhounds, both three-pointers, which proved to be the difference in the game.

ASU Mid-South now takes eight days off before traveling to North Arkansas College for a key Region 2 matchup with playoff implications. The Lady Pioneers are currently ranked #7 in the nation and won the bid to host the NJCAA Division II National Women's Basketball Tournament beginning this year.
