Lady Greyhounds Get Tough Win in Dyersburg

Using a balanced scoring attack while controlling the boards, ASU Mid-South took a hard-fought 59-52 victory Monday at Dyersburg State Community College (TN).
Taylor Simmons and Derykah Dailey led the Lady Greyhounds with 12 points each while Summer Abram and Teiangula Boston each scored nine points. Javia Wilson and De'Janice Hamilton each scored six points while Hamilton dominated the glass, pulling down a game-high 15 rebounds, to lead ASU Mid-South to a 51-40 rebounding advantage including 21 offensive rebounds to offset a 33.8% shooting night in which the Lady Greyhounds hit only 4-of-25 from the three-point line and a mere 45.8% from the free throw line.
But the visiting Greyhounds forced 22 turnovers and limited the home team to 32.7% shooting to get the win on the road.
The Lady Greyhounds next travel to Fulton, Mississippi, to take on Itawamba Community College Thursday before returning home Saturday, January 20, for an NJCAA Region 2 matchup against rival North Arkansas College.
