Game 1:
Arkansas State Mid-South With Tough Game Against MACC Greyhounds
Arkansas State Mid-South had trouble keeping up with MACC Greyhounds in a 12-2 loss on Friday.
MACC Greyhounds were the first to get on the board in the first when Braden Hemmer hit a solo home run to left field.
MACC Greyhounds scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the second inning. Gavin Poindexter homered to center field, scoring two runs, A.J. Lucas drew a walk, scoring one run, Tanner Nelson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Owen Larrigan was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
MACC Greyhounds added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Grant Sumrall singled, scoring one run, and Lucas tripled, scoring two runs.
Brock McNeill started the game for Arkansas State Mid-South. The righty allowed four hits and six runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking five. Sam Bespoyasny started on the mound for MACC Greyhounds. The hurler gave up seven hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking none.

A double by Drew Busby put Arkansas State Mid-South on the board in the top of the first.
MACC Greyhounds tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to an error, and a walk by A.J. Lucas.
Arkansas State Mid-South took the lead in the top of the second. Parker Andel doubled, scoring one run, to give Arkansas State Mid-South the upper hand, 3-2.
MACC Greyhounds flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring 10 runs on five hits to take the lead, 12-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Grant Sumrall that drove in three.
MACC Greyhounds added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Gavin Poindexter singled, scoring three runs, and an error scored one run.
Josh Candrl earned the win for MACC Greyhounds. The hurler surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Bronson McNeill took the loss for Arkansas State Mid-South. The left-handed pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering 12 runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking five.
Busby drove the middle of the lineup, leading Arkansas State Mid-South with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Number nine hitter, James Chicorelli, showed the depth of Arkansas State Mid-South's lineup, by leading them with two hits in two at bats.
