Jalen Lynn has been named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for his play during the week of January 20-26.
Jalen Lynn has been named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for his play during the week of January 20-26. This is the second time this season Lynn has been honored, having been named Region Player of the Week November 11-17, and the second Greyhound in a row as Ike Moore was named Region Player of the Week last week, January 13-19.
The 6'0" sophomore guard from Collierville, Tennessee, is currently averaging 19.5 points per game and in two games last week scored 28 points in only 29 minutes while shooting 12-of-17 from the field in a 104-82 win over Rhema College and 28 points shooting 10-of-16 from the field and 5-for-8 from the three-point line in a 102-85 Region 2 victory at North Arkansas. Named First Team All-Region last year as a freshman, he also added 6-of-6 free throws and recorded 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the two games.
The Greyhounds are currently 16-5 on the season and 3-0 in Region 2 play. They travel to play at West Kentucky Community and Technical College Thursday in Paducah before returning to The Dog House Saturday to take on Region 2 opponent South Arkansas Community College at 4:00pm.
