Behind a season high 61-point outburst in the first half, the Lady Greyhounds fought off a pesky Columbia State Community College squad to take a 101-68 victory Monday at The Dog House.
ASU Mid-South led 61-27 at the half, but Columbia State outscored the Lady Greyhounds 24-17 in the third quarter to narrow the gap, but Alesha Penister scored all nine of her points in the second half to help hold the visitors at bay.
Samantha Jackson led all scorers with 22 points, Raven Morrow and Haley Morgan scored 17 points each, and Rachel Gramling hit for 13 points for the Lady Greyhounds.
Next up is the Lady Greyhound Classic held Friday and Saturday at The Dog House as the women host Blue Mountain College JV Friday at 7:00pm and St. Louis Community College Saturday at 2:00pm.
