The Lady Greyhounds won the first three quarters, but the fourth quarter belonged to LSU Eunice as the visitors stole a 74-66 decision Thursday at The Dog House.
Leading 50-42 after three quarters of play, the home team watched LSU Eunice catch lightning in a bottle as they outscored ASU Mid-South 32-16 in the final period. Bethany Broussard came off the bench to score 12 of her 16 points in the final frame, and Rylie James led the Bengals with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Teiangula Boston led the Lady Greyhounds with 15 points and 14 rebounds while Alesha Penister scored 14 and Summer Abram finished with 12 points. ASU Mid-South was +4 in turnovers but lost the battle of the boards 55-52. Free throw shooting also hurt the hosts' cause as the Lady Greyhounds shot 14-of-28 (50.0%) from the line while the Bengals capitalized by shooting 21-of-26 (80.8%).
ASU Mid-South now gets a break for the Christmas holidays before returning January 4 to play at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis. The Lady Greyhounds return to The Dog House Saturday, January 6, as they host Chattanooga State Community College at 2:00pm.
