The loss overshadowed an outstanding game from Penister as the sophomore finished with a career-high 33 points on 8-of-14 shooting while going 7-of-11 from the three-point line and 10-of-12 from the free throw line to go with five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Teiangula Boston scored 18 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and De'Janice Hamilton finished with ten points and seven boards.
The Lady Greyhounds led 32-25 at the half, but Itawamba outscored ASU Mid-South in each of the last two quarters to get the win.
Next up is an NJCAA Region 2 matchup with North Arkansas College, currently ranked #11 in the NCJAA Division II national poll, Saturday, January 20, at The Dog House in the first of two games that have playoff implications.
