The third quarter was not kind as the Lady Greyhounds' halftime lead disappeared on the way to a 69-62 loss to Arkansas Baptist College Thursday at The Dog House.
Leading 30-26 at the half, ASU Mid-South managed only 10 points in the third quarter before exploding for 22 in the final frame, but it wasn't enough to overcome the visitor's 43 second half points. Arkansas Baptist held a 47-44 rebounding edge and converted 24 Lady Greyhound turnovers into 27 points, and ASU Mid-South's 56% free throw shooting didn't help either as ABC hit 71% from the charity stripe.
Alesha Penister led the Lady Greyhounds with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in her final home game, and Sable Greer finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and two steals in her finale. Sophomore Summer Abram scored 12 points to go with five rebounds in her last home game as well.
The Lady Greyhounds next travel to National Park College Saturday before traveling to Harrison to play North Arkansas College in the NJCAA Region 2 Playoff Saturday, March 3. The winner of that advances to the District P Playoff the following Saturday while the loser's season ends.
