After holding a 6-point halftime lead, the Lady Greyhounds ran out of gas in the second half as Itawamba Community College exploded for 52 second-half points on the way to a 71-47 decision Thursday at The Dog House.
Behind 15 points from Aaliyah Lee, ASU Mid-South led 25-19 at the half. But the Lady Indians outscored the home team 24-14 in the third quarter to lead 43-39 entering the final period and then went on a 28-8 run to finish the game.
Lee led the Lady Greyhounds (3-2) with 23 points while Ashley Pegue scored 8 and Alindavia Lockett and Cierra Penn chipped in 6 points each.
Next up is a matchup with Johnson County Community College out of Overland Park, Kansas, currently ranked 2nd in the nation in the NJCAA Division II Women's Poll and entering Saturday's 2:00pm matchup at The Dog House with a 9-0 record.
