The Lady Greyhounds rallied in the fourth quarter only to fall 65-61 at National Park College Saturday in Hot Springs.
After holding an 11-8 lead after the first quarter, ASU Mid-South found themselves down 30-25 at the half and 53-40 entering the fourth quarter. But tough defense, free throws from attacking the basket and a key three-pointer cut the Lady Nighthawk lead to 64-61 and the ball belonging to ASU Mid-South with 42.6 seconds remaining. The Lady Greyhounds then missed a shot but immediately got a turnover and another chance to tie or narrow the lead with 24.3 seconds left. But the Lady Greyhounds couldn't convert and were forced to foul, and National Park hit one of two free throws for the final margin.
ASU Mid-South won the battle of the boards, 50-46, but shot only 32.9% from the field and 22.2% from the three-point line. They also turned the ball over 19 times to only 15 for the Lady Nighthawks.
The Lady Greyhounds just missed having three players finish with double-doubles as Aaliyah Lee scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, Adrianne Chambers scored 16 points to go with 12 boards, and Alindavia Lockett scored 11 points and finished with 9 rebounds. Both Chambers and Jaquita Caldwell dished out 6 assists each.
