Lady Greyhounds Earn Region 2 Victory
The Lady Greyhounds shot out of the gate early and held on late to earn an 82-76 victory over the National Park College Lady Nighthawks Saturday at The Dog House.
The Lady Greyhounds shot out of the gate early and held on late to earn an 82-76 victory over the National Park College Lady Nighthawks Saturday at The Dog House. The win is the first regular-season Region 2 victory since February 14, 2015, when they defeated North Arkansas College at The Dog House, 73-71.
Taking a 21-13 first-quarter lead, the Lady Nighthawks pulled within one point, 34-33, at the half. But the Lady Greyhounds won both the third and fourth quarters to hold on for the win.
Aaliyah Lee led the way with 20 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocked shots, all team-highs for the game. Ashley Pegue scored 17 points to go with 5 assists while Adrianne Chambers scored 14 points and Kaylan Larry finished with 11 points. Cierra Penn scored 10 points off the bench to go with a team-high 6 assists.
The Lady Greyhounds next host Three Rivers College on Monday at 5:30pm before taking the road Wednesday at St. Louis Community College.
