Lady Greyhounds Win at Shawnee

Playing this season's first game on the road, the Lady Greyhounds limited the Shawnee Community College Saints to only six fourth-quarter points in taking a 59-55 victory Saturday in Ullin, Illinois.

ASU Mid-South (2-0) outscored Shawnee 15-6 in the fourth quarter after trailing 48-44 entering the final period of play. The Lady Greyhounds led 32-31 at the half.

Meleanna Williams led all scorers with 19 points as the sophomore transfer hit 5-of-7 from the floor and 9-of-11 from the free throw line along with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Aaliyah Lee hit for 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting while pulling down a team-high 9 rebounds to go with 4 steals and 2 blocked shots.

The Lady Greyhounds continue their five-game road swing Monday at Williams Baptist University before traveling to Moberly, Missouri, for a classic this weekend.
