The 2022-23 Lady Greyhounds will feature an entire new team including their head coach as Addie Lees takes the helm in her first year at ASU Mid-South after a successful four-year run at Kilgore College located in Kilgore, Texas.
With no returning players from last year's 17-10 squad, Coach Lees began her duties in July and recruited 14 players for the 2022-23 season.
The Lady Greyhounds will look to local product Aryah Hazley (5'6", West Memphis) to take the reins at point guard while transfer Lakeycia Bables (Arizona Western College) looks to score from the wing. Transfer Timyja Threlkeld (Bossier Parish CC, LA) is able to play multiple spots, and true freshman Kayla Griffin (5'7", Brooklyn Park, MN) could make an impact at shooting guard.
The frontcourt features centers Ashley Hopkins (6'1", Memphis Business Academy, TN) who transferred from Bossier Parish Community College (LA) and Jazmen Robinson (6'0", Langham Creek High School, Houston, Texas), a transfer from Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas.
In the backcourt, true freshman Kya Washington (5'10", Reading High School, Reading, PA) looks to make an impact. DeMiyah Gatlin transfers in from Southwest Tennessee Community College at a forward spot while point guard Quintasia Leatherwood-Doss (Dyersburg State CC, TN), looks to give the Lady Greyhounds experience in the backcourt. In addition, experience will come from a pair of teammates, Isabela Leal and Kassandra Martinez from Arlington Baptist University (TX) and Sinclair Johnson from Southwest Tennessee Community College.
Local products Moriah Robinson (5'11") and Kennedy Carter (5'8"), both from nearby Marion High School, round out the frontline.
The Lady Greyhounds are playing in two classics this season including hosting The Lady Greyhound Classic November 11-12, as well as at Moberly Area Community College. They play familiar non-conference foes Jones College, Northwest Mississippi, Southwest Tennessee, and Dyersburg State while adding St. Louis Community College and new Region 2 member Shorter College. Region 2 play begins in January with 10 region games that conclude with the Region Tournament at home sites with the championship held March 6 at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
