Lady Greyhounds Conquer Spoon River at Moberly Classic
The Lady Greyhounds overcame poor shooting by taking a 33-9 advantage off turnovers in defeating the Spoon River College Lady Snappers 67-51 Friday in the first game of the Moberly Classic held at Moberly Area Community College in Missouri.

Shooting just 34.7% from the field and 12.5% from the three-point line, ASU Mid-South was able to force 22 turnovers while committing just 8 while getting 13 steals to the Lady Snappers' 4.
Trailing 15-14 after the first quarter, the Lady Greyhounds took a 38-29 lead into halftime. Then after playing even in the third period and neither team scoring in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter, the Lady Greyhounds broke the ice with an Ashley Hopkins putback with 7:50 remaining. The Lady Snappers would get no closer than 9 points the rest of the way as the Lady Greyhounds outscored Spoon River 16-9 in the final frame.
Aryah Hazley led the scoring charge with 15 points to go with 5 rebounds and 4 assists while Ashley Hopkins scored 11 ponts and pulled down 4 rebounds. Isabela Leal and Kayla Griffin scored 10 points each and pulled down 5 and 6 rebounds, respectively. Jazzmen Robinson also pulled down 6 boards to go with 8 points, Lakeycia Bables chipped in 7 points, and Quintasia Leatherwood led the team with 5 assists and 5 steals.
ASU Mid-South moves to 6-1 on the season while this was the first loss of the season for Spoon River which drops to 6-1 as well. The Lady Greyhounds take on host Moberly Area Community College Saturday at 5:00pm in the final game of the classic.
