Lady Greyhounds Fall at Southwest Tennessee

Combatting forces they have not seen this season, the Lady Greyhounds fell victim to the free throw line as they dropped a 64-46 decision to the Southwest Tennessee Community College Lady Saluqis at Verties Sails Gymnasium in Memphis.

Flagged for 32 fouls to Southwest Tennessee's 12 fouls, ASU Mid-South watched the home team take advantage by hitting 30-of-40 free throws while the Lady Greyhounds managed just 4-of-6 at the line. This despite turning the ball over only 16 times to the Lady Saluqis 26 turnovers while battling nearly even on the boards, 45-44. However, it was not their night as ASU Mid-South shot just 22.2% from the field while Southwest Tennessee hit for 41.0%.

Lakeycia Bables and Kya Washington led the Lady Greyhounds with 10 points each while Quintasia Leatherwood led the team with 9 rebounds and 8 assists to go with 7 points. Jazzmen Robinson scored 8 points and pulled down 8 rebounds.

ASU Mid-South (8-5) next hosts new NJCAA Region 2 member Shorter College Monday at 5:30pm with the men's game to follow at 7:30pm.
