Allie Beckley would start the scoring for both teams as she would get an layup to begin the game, as ASU Mid-South's Jakiyah Bell would soon follow up with a layup of her own to tie the early contest up. Beckley would soon come back down and hit a 3 pointer with 7:15 remaining in the first quarter to give the Lady Indians the early lead which they would not give up. Esther Kwagala would attack the paint and follow up Beckley's 3 with a layup, but that was going to be the closest the Lady Greyhounds would get for the remaining of the game. The Lady Greyhounds defense would tighten up as they held Itawamba scoreless for the last 3:30 of the first quarter.
Turnovers would hit the Lady Greyhounds hard as they would go on to commit 13 in the second quarter, giving them 20 for the first 20 minutes of play. The Lady Indians would stay consistent with their offense scoring 15 in the second quarter, and holding the Lady Greyhounds to just 6 points giving them a comfortable 32-13 lead at the half.
The Lady Indians would come out right where they picked up in the first half using their defense to create for their offense. The Lady Indians would go on to force another 12 Lady Greyhounds turnovers and turning those turnovers into points. The Lady Indians would come into West Memphis, Arkansas and walk away with a 73-32 win. The Lady Indians would force 40 turnovers from the Lady Greyhounds and would turn that into 41 points off turnovers.
Esther Kwagala led the way with 11 points, as she was the only Lady Greyhound to reach dougle figures. Jakiyah Bell would pitch in 9 points, and a team high 8 rebounds, and 4 assist.
The Lady Greyhounds travel to Ellisville, Mississippi as they take on Jones College Saturday, December 9th. Tip-off is set for 2:00.
