Bio

Corona completed her fourth season in 2021-22 after leading the Lady Greyhounds to their second winning season in a row with a runner-up finish in Region play. This despite playing 12 NJCAA Division I colleges including three nationally-ranked teams. This season followed the best season in school history as Corona led the Lady Greyhounds to an incredible 25-2 record, won both Region and District Championships and finished seventh in their first-ever appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament. The 2020-21 season caps perhaps one of the greatest turnarounds in basketball history after going 0-10 in her first season and being unable to finish the schedule due to a lack of eligible players after the fall semester. The Lady Greyhound program is now nationally-ranked for the second year in a row, has achieved nearly every program record, and has earned the program's first-ever All-American as well as an All-National Tournament selection.

Inheriting a program in disarray, Corona went to work changing the entire culture of the Lady Greyhound program in year one. And even with a late start in recruiting, she was still able to piece together a team that while competitive was short-handed every game. Season two saw the Lady Greyhound program rebound with 7 victories while facing a very competitive schedule with mostly first-year players that then exploded with success the last two years, making Corona the only women's basketball coach in school history with a winning record.

Corona came to the Lady Greyhounds after serving as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. HPU won the West Division title two of the last three years she was there and was the most successful program in the American Southwest Conference having gone 187-61 (.754) with 15 straight postseason appearances, seven NCAA Tournament appearances and one NCAA National Championship.

A native of Granger, Texas, Corona was responsible for recruiting student-athletes who earned nine All-Conference honors, two Conference Defensive Players of the Year, one Conference Player of the Year, one Conference Freshman of the Year, and one NCAA All-America player to HPU.

At Granger High School, Corona was named All-Region and District Offensive MVP before moving on to play three seasons at Schreiner University (TX) where she graduated early with a B.A. in Exercise Science, not using her final season of eligibility. She then worked one season as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the women's basketball team and earned her M.Ed. in Education.

Her experience includes working in a sports information department where she dealt with everything from statistics to game day operations, and she has also been involved with many community events including working basketball camps, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club and serving as a YMCA youth basketball coach.
