This is the second forfeit of the season after MCC-Penn Valley officially forfeited their November 17 game with the Greyhounds last week. No reason was given by the MCC-Penn Valley administration, but a likely scenario includes the use of an ineligible player or players as the program has forfeited 14 victories this season.
The Greyhounds now turn their attention to the Region 2 Championship Game to be held at The Dog House this Saturday, February 28, against the North Arkansas College Pioneers. The MSCC women also host North Arkansas in the women's Region Championship game Saturday and tipoff at 2:00 p.m. while the men are scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
Both Greyhound teams will be defending last year's Region Championships that were won at North Arkansas College last season in Harrison in what has become both teams' biggest rivalry.
Admission Saturday is free as both Greyhound teams will be honoring their sophomores. The winner of the Region 2 Championship advances to the District Championship against the winner of Region 16 with the winner of that game advancing to the national tournament.
