Greyhounds Help Hearts with Jump Rope

Taking time out from the basketball season, the Greyhounds joined the fourth grade at Marion Intermediate School in participating in the annual Jump Rope for Heart event to raise money for the American Heart Association.

"It was a great experience connecting with the students," said MSCC assistant coach Al Jackson. "It's fun to see the kids get excited about physical activity."

The Greyhounds served both as rope swingers and rope jumpers during the event, and challenged the kids to beat their own records.

"It's always a privilege to serve in our community," said MSCC head coach Chris Parker. "Not all education happens in the classroom, and I believe this is part of the education we strive to provide our student-athletes that helps them become well-rounded and productive citizens."

"We had a lot of fun," said Greyhound Deion Ball.

"It was great seeing the kids get so excited," added Greyhound Tevin Brown.

The Greyhounds have two games remaining in the regular season, both at home, before hosting the North Arkansas Pioneers in the NJCAA Region 2 Championship Game on Saturday, February 28. Tipoff is at 4:00 p.m.
