Greyhound Signee Earns All-Star Team Most Outstanding Player
Incoming Greyhound Cameron Ricks named All-Star Most Outstanding Player
Incoming Greyhound Cameron Ricks was named the East squad's Most Outstanding Player after scoring 15 points to help the East beat the West 100-83 in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star boys basketball game held at the Farris Center on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Ricks, a 6'2" guard, was one of the state's top 24 seniors chosen to play in the annual event, and he certainly made the most of his opportunity after a stellar senior season at Mills High School in Little Rock in which he led the Comets in scoring, assists and steals for a 20-6 team that finished second in the ultra-tough 5A-Central conference on the way to the state tournament quarterfinals. On the season, Ricks averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game while earning All-District, All-Metro, All-State and All-State Tournament honors.
Ricks is a part of an outstanding recruiting class the Greyhounds have coming in this season and gives the program a smart player who can play both the point guard and shooting guard positions. The Greyhounds will look to improve upon a program-best 18 wins last season as well as their second Region 2 title.
