Wildcats Turn Up Heat with Hot Hands at Home

To compound a season-worst shooting night, the Greyhounds could not escape the heat at Bethel University, falling 82-74 as five Wildcats combined for 13 three-pointers Monday in McKinzie, Tennessee. The Wildcats made only 26 field goals to the Greyhounds' 29, but half were beyond the arc.

Bethel shot nearly 50% from the three-point line as ASU Mid-South failed to shoot 40% from the field for the first time this season, and the Wildcats also made the Greyhounds pay from the free throw line by hitting 17 of 27 from the charity stripe while the visitors could manage a season-low 11 free throws in the game, hitting eight. It was the first time this season the Greyhounds had not shot at least 20 free throws in a game.

Tyler Armstrong finished with 20 points, Joe'Randle Toliver had 18 and Trent Steen chipped in 10 points for the Greyhounds who played their first game without leading scorer Tasmania Jones who broke his foot early in Saturday's game against MCC-Penn Valley.

ASU Mid-South next prepares for a two-game swing to St. Louis this weekend as they take on St. Louis Community College and Missouri Baptist JV.
