ASU Mid-South rode the shooting of Jerrick Cole in the first half as the freshman from Little Rock scored 10 of his 12 points in the opening period, but they could not slow down the shooting of the Scouts and trailed 42-30 at the break.
In the second half, MCC-Penn Valley continued to stretch their lead until the Greyhounds KeShaun Davis caught fire and scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half. Terrandus Smith led the team with 17 points, but the Greyhounds shot only 37.8% from the field and an abysmal 2-of-16 from the three-point line for the game. On the other side, MCC-Penn Valley shot 52.5% from the field and 37.5% from the arc while committing only six turnovers to the Greyhounds 14.
The Greyhounds continue their six-game road swing Monday night at Rhodes College in Memphis before embarking on a two-game trip to St. Louis the following weekend.
