Greyhounds Defeat Previously Unbeaten St. Louis

In a tale of two halves, the Greyhounds overcame a hot St. Louis Community College team with some stifling defense in the second half to claim a 69-63 victory and hand the Archers their first loss of the season.

In the first half, it was easy to see why St. Louis entered the game with a 5-0 record as the Archers put on a shooting clinic to connect on 64% of their shots and lead 38-34 at the intermission. However, ASU Mid-South's defense in the second half limited the Archers to only 25 points on 25.7% shooting while connecting on over 52% of their shots in the frame to come back and take the win.

Montee Randle, Terrandus Smith and Dee Montgomery all scored 11 points for the Greyhounds while Jerrick Cole finished with nine points and K.J. Patrick and Terrikous Smith chipped in eight points each. The Greyhounds committed 20 turnovers to the Archers' 18, but won the battle of the boards 41-35 as Patrick led the way with eight caroms.

The Greyhounds (5-3) return to The Dog House on Thursday, December 1, as they host Itawamba Community College in a women and men's double-header beginning at 5:30 p.m.
