The Indians put up season-highs in points (92), field goal percentage (29 of 45 for 64.4%), three-point field goal percentage (8 of 13 for 61.5%), and free throws made and attempted (26 of 35) in posting a 92-77 win, breaking a three-game Greyhound winning streak. Despite outrebounding the Indians 40-30, ASU Mid-South hurt their chances by shooting only 7-of-29 from the three-point line while shooting 42% from the field.
Itawamba did not pull ahead until late in the first half and led 48-41 at halftime, but the Greyhounds found themselves down by 20 with eight minutes remaining and could get no closer than 12 the rest of the way.
Terrandus Smith led the way for ASU Mid-South with a career-high 26 points and seven rebounds while Trevor Banks also notched a career-high 14 points and eight rebounds.
The Greyhounds host Rhema College from Oklahoma Saturday in the first of three games remaining before the Christmas break. The women tipoff at 2:00pm with the men scheduled to get underway at 4:00pm.
