The Greyhounds broke free midway through the first half and never looked back in taking a 108-62 win at Crowley's Ridge College Monday night.
The win breaks a two-game drought after dropping consecutive games to teams who had season-high shooting nights. And while the lead changed hands twice in the first eight minutes, the Greyhounds finally found their pace and raced to a 58-29 lead at the half as Terrandus Smith scored 16 of his game-high 19 points in the opening frame.
The Greyhound defense did the job after the break as well, limiting the Pioneers to just 33 second-half points. Jerrick Cole took the lead in the final frame, scoring 14 of his 16 points, and KeShaun Davis scored 10 of his 16 in the second half as well. Trevor Banks finished with 15 points, Chris Smith scored 12 to go with a game-high 12 rebounds, and Teverette Cain chipped in 10 points.
ASU Mid-South next returns home to The Dog House Friday for a matchup with Champion Christian College out of Hot Springs. The early tipoff time is 5:00pm for a single men's game which will be the Greyhounds' final game of 2016.
