With rebounds, turnovers and free throw attempts being relatively similar, it was simply shooting percentages that tells the real story of the game. The home team used a patient attack to get the shots they wanted and then buried them, hitting for an incredible 66.7% from the field and 63.6% from the three-point line. And on the other end, the Greyhounds struggled to find the mark in both halves, settling for 35.1% from the field and an abyssmal 12.5% (2-of-16) from the arc.
Dee Montgomery was the highlight for ASU Mid-South with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, and Trevor Banks finished with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting, but no other Greyhound totaled more than five points or shot over 50% from the field. Greyhound leading-scorer, Terrandus Smith, was held to just four points after coming off a career-high 35-point, 11-rebound performance Tuesday at Northeast Mississippi.
After four games in nine days, the Greyhounds get eight days off before traveling to Harrison, Arkansas, for a key matchup with Region 2 rival North Arkansas on Saturday, January 21. The women will begin the action at 2:00pm followed by the men at 4:00pm.
