ASU Mid-South (12-5) used 25 offensive rebounds and a season-low 11 turnovers to offset their worst shooting game of the season.
Jalen Lynn scored all 15 of his points in the first half on five treys to keep the Greyhounds ahead 38-37 at halftime after the Pioneers hit 9 three-pointers. But the Greyhounds broke open the game halfway through the second half as Zach Byrd scored 13 of his team-high 17 points and pulled down 9 rebounds to help ASU Mid-South to the win. Christian White (13 points, 9 rebounds) and Ike Moore (13 points, 8 rebounds) also came through in the clutch while Shaheed Halk dished out a game-high 7 assists.
The Greyhounds now turn their attention to Region 2 newcomer National Park College on Thursday at 6:00pm for their first of two matchups this season. The Nighthawks are currently 11-2 on the season and return a game to The Dog House on February 14.
