Freshman Sam Smith led all scorers with a 30-point, 10-rebound effort in his first collegiate game. The 6'7" forward shot 12-of-13 from the field, 1-of-1 from the three-point line and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
Spencer Simes came off the bench to score 12 points, Jeremiah Jones finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Kylon McCullough and Monroe Carr both scored 11 points and dished out 5 assists each.
The Greyhounds (1-0) shot 54.3% from the field and 43.8% from the three-point line while taking a 55-26 advantage on the boards and forcing 21 Williams Baptist turnovers.
Next up is a return trip to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to play the Eagles before returning to The Dog House Thursday, January 28, to host Crowley's Ridge College JV.
