Taking advantage of their deep bench, the Greyhounds snagged a halftime lead over the visiting UA Cossatot Colts before extending it in the second half for a hard-fought 89-70 victory Saturday at The Dog House.

The Colts (3-4, 0-2), playing only seven players, led most of the first half thanks to 6 three-point field goals. But ASU Mid-South fought back to take a 44-39 lead into the break. But the Greyhounds began extending the lead as the second half began but did not gain separation until the second unit entered the game and put it out of reach as the Greyhounds led by as much as 22 points before settling on the 19-point victory with 40 points coming from the bench.
Kylon McCullough led the charge for the Greyhounds with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting, going 3-of-4 behind the arc and from the free throw line. Sam Smith scored 16 points, but it was Jacob Hudson off the bench who finished with 15 points on 8-of-13 shooting and a game-high 8 rebounds. Jeremiah Jones finished with 12 points, and J.T. Smith added 8 points to go with game-highs of 5 assists and 3 steals.
ASU Mid-South (8-0, 2-0), currently ranked #3 in the nation, travels to St. Louis Community College Monday before returning to The Dog House Thursday night to host Central Baptist College JV.
