In a game that featured 8 ties and 13 lead changes, the Rangers enjoyed making more free throws than the Greyhounds attempted with Northwest shooting 27-of-35 from the line to the Greyhounds 11-of-19. ASU Mid-South won the battle of the boards, 40-37, and limited the Rangers to just 8 offensive rebounds while shooting 10-of-23 from the three point line. But Northwest shot 45.3% from the field, largely thanks to the first half where they shot 51.7% from the field and were 5-of-10 from the three-point line.
Jeremiah Jones led the Greyhounds with 20 points while Sam Smith finished with 13 points and a team-high 6 rebounds. Mekhai Washington scored 11 points, Jailen Anderson finished with 10 points, and J.T. Smith had a team-high 5 assists to go with 5 rebounds and 2 points.
The Greyhounds (4-3) travel to Dyersburg State Community College (TN) Wednesday and return to The Dog House for a Saturday doubleheader against Itawamba Community College (MS) with tip-off scheduled for 4:00pm after the 2:00pm women's game.
