Rockets Blast Greyhounds in Dog House

Taking a huge halftime lead, the Southern Arkansas University Tech Rockets were never threatened as the Greyhounds took it on the chin in a 72-55 loss Sunday at The Dog House.

ASU Mid-South held the visitors to 38.7% shooting from the field but managed to shoot just 33.9% themselves, and a paltry 21.4% from the three-point line while the Rockets hit 9-of-27 (33.3%). The Greyhounds also were outrebounded 43-37 including giving up 15 offensive rebounds and turned it over 21 times.

Mekhai Washington was the only Greyhound to score in double-figures, hitting for 11 points with 3 triples. Sam Smith pulled down a team-high 7 rebounds to go with 5 points, and Jailen Anderson dished out a game-high 5 assists while scoring 8 points.

The Greyhounds (9-9) play Williams Baptist University JV tomorrow at home before hosting South Arkansas Community College Thursday in their next NJCAA Region 2 matchup.
