ASU Mid-South broke open a 7-7 tie with a 7-0 run and never looked back, leading 60-42 at halftime and boosting the lead to as many as 44 points late in the second half.
Dominating the boards with 26 offensive rebounds, the Greyhounds shot 53.3% from the field while the hosts shot a respectable 48.2% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point line. But the Eagles' 27 turnovers to ASU Mid-South's 12 gave the Greyhounds all they needed.
Je'marion Westbrook led all scorers with 28 points to go with 6 rebounds while Jesse Washington scored 26 points and also pulled down 6 boards. Braxtyn McCuien finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Christian Thompson collected his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Jailen Anderson chipped in 10 points and 8 boards. Chris Martin led the team with game-highs of 4 assists and 5 steals to go with 8 points.
The Greyhounds (12-6, 1-0) now turn their attention back to NJCAA Region 2 play as they host Southern Arkansas University Tech (14-6, 1-0) Thursday at 7:30pm following the women's game at 5:30pm.
