The Greyhounds led 26-25 at the half before starting the second half with a 13-0 run. The Rockets scored on an Allen Taylor layup with 12:48 remaining in the game to cut the ASU Mid-South lead to 39-27, but the Greyhounds continued building their advantage throughout the second half and led by 24 points on two occasions before settling for the 18-point victory.
Holding SAU Tech to 35.3% shooting from the field and 30.0% from the three-point line, ASU Mid-South shot 43.9% from the field and 40.0% from the arc while dominating the boards 44-28 for a 16-2 advantage in second-chance points. The Greyhounds also forced 14 Rocket turnovers while limiting their own to a season-low 8 for the game.
Christian Thompson and Jesse Washington led ASU Mid-South with 19 points each while Jailen Anderson finished with a double-double while recording 13 points, 10 rebounds, and a game-high 6 assists. O.J. Marrs and Braxtyn McCuien pulled down 9 rebounds each to go with 6 points and 5 points, respectively.
The Greyhounds (13-6, 2-0) travel to UA Cossatot Saturday before returning to The Dog House Monday at 6:00pm with a rematch against Williams Baptist University JV.
