Head coach Cody Hastings had to say this after the game, "I always like coming to Northeast Mississippi and playing coach Wright and his team. It's always a fun atmosphere and he always does a great job with his team. We're able to learn a lot about ourselves, and hopefully it is preparing us for when Region play starts in January. Missing Jesse hurt tonight, but I was super proud of how Dirk stepped up. Only being down 2 heading into halftime, I couldn't ask to be in a better situation. In the 2nd half, we just have to be able to execute a lot better. We were getting a lot of open looks, but they just weren't falling like they did in the first half. We have to be able to be consisent if we want to give ourselves the best chance of winning games at the end. Defense has to get better, but we're working at it daily so it will come. Guys played for each other tonight, and we ended with 26 assists. Who knows what that number could of been had a few more shots in the 2nd half had fallen. We're right back to work tomorrow and getting ready for a rematch with a good Northwest Mississippi team on Thursday."
Mid-South was led by Je'Marion Westbrook who had 22 points and 6 assists. Samuel Chapin pitched in 11 points, and Kyrin Dock had 10 points and tied a game high of 8 assists.
Northeast Mississippi used a collective effort as 5 guys scored double digits, led by Tyler Boyd's 23.
The Greyhounds fall to 1-2 early in the season, as they prepare to head back to Mississippi Thursday, November 9th as they travel to Senatobia in a rematch with the Rangers of Northwest Mississippi. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm.
