Lady Greyhounds Nab State Championship MVP
Grabbing the MVP of this year's Arkansas 4A State Championship game, the Lady Greyhounds have signed Kayla Young, a 5'6" guard from Searcy, Arkansas, to an NJCAA Letter of Intent and Scholarship Agreement for the 2016-17 season.
Grabbing the MVP of this year's Arkansas 4A State Championship game, the Lady Greyhounds have signed Kayla Young, a 5'6" guard from Searcy, Arkansas, to an NJCAA Letter of Intent and Scholarship Agreement for the 2016-17 season.
Young helped lead the Riverview Lady Raiders to their second consecutive state championship after scoring 26 points and earning MVP honors in the championship game. The Lady Raiders completed an undefeated (33-0) season to push their two-year record to 76-1. She was named to the All-State Tournament team both as a junior and senior as well as earning All-Conference honors both years. Named her team's Offensive MVP, Young finished her career in the 1,000-point club after playing in four consecutive state tournaments for Riverview head coach Ryan Smith.
