Leading 13-12 at the end of the first quarter, ASU Mid-South ended up trailing 32-29 at the half as the Lady Pioneers continued to attack the paint. North Arkansas added to their lead by the end of the third quarter, 49-42, but the Lady Greyhounds started the final period with a 5-0 run to pull within 2 points, and then had several possessions to tie or take the lead that just fell short before North Arkansas was able to extend the lead to 5 points.
But a late surge by ASU Mid-South saw the Lady Greyhounds continue to fight back, pulling within one point at 57-56 on a Cierra Penn free throw, and after two North Arkansas free throws ASU Mid-South trailed by three points, 59-56. But a Penn three-pointer to tie in the last seconds bounced off the front of the rim and the Lady Greyhounds were forced to foul, and the Lady Pioneers hit one of two free throws for the 4-point win.
Adrianne Chambers finished her Lady Greyhound career with a 17-point, 6-rebound effort while Cierra Penn finished with 16 points and 6 boards. Alindavia Lockett recorded a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, and Aaliyah Lee finished with 8 points and 6 boards.
The Lady Greyhounds finish the season with a record of 7-21, but played a schedule that included 14 NJCAA Division I programs and another 7 games that were determined by 10 points or less. They also played with a team that included only two sophomores, and could return four starters, two of whom received All-Region honors this season.
