Leading 16-11 after the first quarter, the teams played even in the second frame before SAU Tech closed the gap to 54-51 heading into the final period. But the Lady Greyhounds began pulling away early in the quarter and used 81.3% free throw shooting to seal the game.
Kaylan Larry's 30 points led all scorers as the sophomore from Little Rock shot 9-of-18 from the field, 4-of-8 from the arc and 8-of-10 from the free throw line while also dishing out 5 assists and collecting 2 steals. Cierra Penn added a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocked shots, and Aaliyah Lee scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go with 6 boards.
ASU Mid-South (12-1, 3-1) shot 45.9% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point line as the #15-ranked team in the nation dropped the Lady Rockets to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in NJCAA Region 2 play.
Both Greyhound basketball teams travel to National Park College Saturday as the women play at 2:00pm following by the men at 4:00pm in Hot Springs before returning to The Dog House Monday for a rematch with St. Louis Community College.
