The Lady Greyhounds came out hot and never let up in dominating the visiting North Arkansas Lady Pioneers 78-50 Saturday at The Dog House in West Memphis.
ASU Mid-South led 31-11 after the first quarter, then stretched that into a 50-19 halftime lead as they dominated both sides of the floor. All that was required in the second half for the victory was one point since North Arkansas scored just 50 for the game, and the Lady Greyhounds put up 28 second-half points just to be safe.
Cierra Penn led the scoring with 19 points to go with 4 rebounds and a game-high 6 assists. Meleanna Williams finished with a double-double collecting 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Aaliyah Lee just missed that with 16 points and 9 boards.
With the victory, the Lady Greyhounds (19-1, 8-1) have clinched the top seed in the Region Tournament which gives them a first-round bye and home court advantage through the tournament championship game. They now have only one game left in the regular season, hosting National Park College Monday at 5:30pm before hosting a semifinal game Tuesday, April 6, at 6:00pm.
