The Lady Greyhounds jumped out to a 19-10 first-quarter lead before the Lady Bobcats narrowed the gap to 34-32 at the half thanks to an Olivia Knight 68-foot shot at the buzzer. Then in the third quarter, Jones broke a 38-38 tie with a free throw with 7:41 left and outscored ASU Mid-South 17-11 the rest of the quarter. Then in the fourth quarter the Lady Greyhounds stayed within four possessions until under two minutes left in the game as Jones controlled the tempo for the win.
The Lady Bobcats shot 46.6% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point line while controlling the boards, 36-26. Both teams committed 23 turnovers, but ASU Mid-South shot just 30.0% from the field and 25.0% from the arc.
Aaliyah Lee led the Lady Greyhounds with 17 points while Jaylia Reed scored 16 points and pulled down 5 rebounds. Meleanna Williams led on the boards with 7 to go with 9 points. Auburn-signee JaKayla Johnson led Jones College with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
ASU Mid-South (3-4) next travels to Moberly Area Community College for two tournament games the weekend after Thanksgiving in Moberly, Missouri.
