In a battle of nationally-ranked teams, the Lady Greyhounds came out on the short end of a 57-41 decision to the North Arkansas College Lady Pioneers Saturday at The Dog House.
The 15th-ranked Lady Pioneers (14-3, 4-0) were consistently efficient the entire game, taking a 12-8 lead after the first quarter and leading 30-19 at halftime. The Lady Greyhounds cut the gap to 43-33 at the end of the third period, but 22.7% shooting from the field, 19.2% from the arc, and just 37.5% from the free throw line couldn't get it done against a team that shot 40% from the three-point line and 81.3% from the charity stripe. North Arkansas also won the battle of the boards, 46-38, and turned the ball over just 10 times.
Aaliyah Lee and Jaylia Reed led the Lady Greyhounds with 11 points each, and Keiana Delaney scored 8, but the trio combined to shoot just 11-for-46 from the field. Lee notched her second double-double of the season with a game-high 13 rebounds, and Delaney dished out 4 assists.
The 7th-ranked Lady Greyhounds (11-8, 4-1) travel to Williams Baptist University Monday before returning to The Dog House Saturday for a rematch with region-rival SAU Tech.
