The Lady Greyhounds found themselves in a rush getting to Itawamba later than scheduled, but it didn't stop the Lady Greyhounds from getting out to a quick start taking a 17-16 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Indians would soon settle in, as the Lady Greyhounds would start to slow down just a tad. In just a 3 point game with a minute remaining in the 2nd quarter, the Lady Greyhounds found themselves just down 3. The Lady Indians would end the half on a 5-0 push it to a 37-29 lead into the half outscoring the Lady Greyhounds 21-12 in the second quarter.
The second half started with both teams trading baskets as Ayanna Rutledge got the scoring started for the Lady Greyhounds knocking down the outside shot. The Lady Indians would start to really find their groove as they started attacking the paint early and often. The Lady Indians would take an 18 point lead on a Ayonna Naylor spinning layup, just before Rutledge would get a steal and layup just before the end of the 3rd quarter. The Lady Indians held a 61-45 lead heading into the final period.
The Lady Indians would take their largest lead of the night on a Allie Beckley free throw with 3:13 left in the game, as the Lady Indians would go on to defeat the Lady Greyhounds by a final score of 81-56.
Jakiyah Bell led the Lady Greyhounds in scoring with 14, followed by Ayanna Rutledge and Kayla Hudson both with 12. London Robinson pulled in a game high rebounds with 9.
With the loss, the Lady Greyhounds fall to 1-8 on the early season. Next up for the Lady Greyhounds is their rematch with Itawamba Monday, December 4th with a 5:30pm start time.
