Just like the first matchup earlier this season which saw the Lady Pioneers escape The Dog House with a 77-72 victory, this game was just as close and came down to the end. The Lady Greyhounds would find themselves trailing by 4 at the end of the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter was much like the first where they just had trouble getting the ball to drop for them shooting 3-17 from the field in the quarter. The Lady Pioneers would hold a 30-23 lead at halftime.
The Lady Greyhounds started to hit their stride as they cut the 7 point lead to just 1 by the time the 3rd quarter buzzer sounded. The Lady Greyhounds used effeciant scoring from inside the ark, and taking advantages of their free throw opportunities in the 3rd quarter. The biggest thing for ASU Mid-South was taking care of the ball and only committing 1 turnover in the quarter. The 4th quarter was much like the 3rd as the Lady Greyhounds offense just kept clicking putting themselves in a great situation at the end of the game. Sophomore Ayanna Rutledge converted two big plays down the stretch getting a steal and finishing a layup, then driving and finding a wide open Esther Kwagala for a layup to give the Greyhounds the lead with under a minute remaining. North Arkansas had an opportunity late in the game, but down 3 with only .3 seconds left on the clock it was impossible for the Lady Pioneers to catch and shoot before time running out giving the Lady Greyhounds the 65-52 win.
Ayanna Rutledge led ASU Mid-South with 23 points and snagging 5 steals. London Robinson finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals. Esther Kwagala ended the game with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Charalyn Rester rounded out the Lady Greyhounds in double figures scoring 10 points.
