Trailing by five points at the half, 34-29, both teams picked up the offense in the second half and finished shooting over 52% from the field for the game. Ironically, the Greyhounds outshot the hosts at the three-point line (47.4% to 36.8%) but couldn't get one to fall on the last possession of the game. ASU Mid-South hurt themselves at the free throw line, hitting only 10-of-18 for 55.6%, and were outrebounded 38-28 while committing 18 turnovers to the Indians 14.
Caleb Henry led ASU Mid-South with 14 points and hit 4-of-5 beyond the arc before leaving the game late in the second half with an injury. Jalen Lynn and Christian White both scored 12 points, and White led the team with 6 rebounds. Zach Byrd scored 8 points to go with 5 assists, and Shaheed Halk dished out a team-high 7 assists and took 3 steals to go with 4 points. The Greyhounds were playing their first game without Kamron Rose who is currently averaging 14 points and 9.4 rebounds for the Greyhounds through the first six games.
The Greyhounds travel to Lockesburg, Arkansas, Saturday to take on UA Cossatot at 4:00pm.
