Lynn Named Region 2 Player of the Week for Third Time
For the third time this season, Jalen Lynn, a 6'0" freshman from Collierville, Tennessee, has been named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for the week of January 28 through February 3.
For the third time this season, Jalen Lynn, a 6'0" freshman from Collierville, Tennessee, has been named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for the week of January 28 through February 3.
Lynn led the Greyhounds to a 115-75 victory over West Kentucky, scoring a school-record 40 points on 13-of-17 shooting, hitting 12-of-15 from the three-point line and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. He also scored 6 points in a 77-65 loss to Northwest Mississippi Community College and dished out 5 assists while pulling down 4 boards.
Currently leading the team in scoring by averaging 17.6 points per game, Lynn is shooting over 44% from the field, nearly 38% from the 3-point line and 80.9% from the free throw line as the Greyhounds hold a 15-6 record and are receiving votes in the NJCAA National Poll.
The Greyhounds continue their homestand Saturday in a Region 2 matchup against North Arkansas College and follow that up with home games Monday against Williams Baptist JV and Saturday against UA Cossatot as they play seven of their last nine games at home. The Greyhounds have already secured the home court for the Region 2 Playoff on March 2 at 2:00 pm with the winner advancing to play the Region 16 winner in Missouri.
