Jalen Lynn Earns Third Award as Region Player of the Week
Jalen Lynn has been named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for his play during the week of February 20-26.
Jalen Lynn has been named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for his play during the week of February 20-26. This is the third time this season Lynn has been honored, having been named Region Player of the Week November 11-17 and again January 20-26. This is the fourth time a Greyhound has won the award this season as Ike Moore was named Region Player of the Week January 13-19.
The 6'0" sophomore guard from Collierville, Tennessee, is currently averaging 20.0 points per game and in two games last week scored 30 points in 34 minutes while shooting 9-of-17 from the field in an85-79 loss against Three Rivers College and 26 points shooting 7-of-15 from the field in an84-81 overtime loss at SAU Tech. Named First Team All-Region last year as a freshman, he was also an incredible 20-of-20 from the free throw line and recorded 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in the two games.
The Greyhounds are currently 21-7 on the season and 4-1 in Region 2 play. They host North Arkansas College Saturday and West Kentucky Community and Technical College Monday in their final two games of the regular season. A win Saturday would clinch the #1 seed in the Region 2 Basketball Tournament held March 1 & 3 at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
