The contest was a make-up game from January 8, but the Greyhounds did not benefit from the postponement as they shot just 35.6% from the field and a paltry 19.0% from the three-point line while SAU Tech hit 46.0% of their shots from the field and an outstanding 46.7% from the arc, knocking down 14-of-30 three-point shots. The Rockets also owned the boards 42-34 and forced 16 Greyhound turnovers.
J.T. Smith led ASU Mid-South with 13 points and 5 rebounds while Sam Smith posted a team-high 6 rebounds to go with 6 points in limited minutes. Braxtyn McCuien scored 8 points in limited minutes while Tim Johnson chipped in 7 points.
The Greyhounds (7-8, 3-1) host North Arkansas College Saturday which will complete the first half of NJCAA Region 2 play. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00pm with no tickets being sold due to ASU Mid-South's current COVID policies.
