The Greyhounds raced out to a lead and never looked back, taking a 107-50 win over the Williams Baptist University JV Eagles Monday at Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
Leading 63-27 at the half, the Greyhounds shot 54.7% from the field, 45.0% from the three-point line and 88.9% from the free throw line while dominating the boards, 64-16. The Eagles shot just 29.5% from the field and 12.0% from the arc.
Sam Smith led the way with 24 points and 15 boards to record his ninth double-double of the season which ties the record for double-doubles in a season set by Zach Byrd in 2019-20. Caleb Allen scored 21 points with 5 three-pointers, Christian Thompson got his first career double-double with 16 ponts and 15 rebounds, Tim Johnson scored 12 points, and T.J. Stewart finished with 10. Jailen Anderson led the team with a game-high 7 assists to go with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
The Greyhounds (9-8, 4-1) begin the second half of NJCAA Region 2 play this Saturday as they host SAU Tech with tipoff scheduled for 4:00pm.
